Ageism in the Media
Ageism happens all the time in the media. We often see images of younger, thinner looking elderly people that are wrinkle free. We see ageism products telling us not to embrace the naturalness of ageing. And in the work place we see people that are older being iced out for the younger generation. This happens especially in television and film. In journalism particularly we often see older men placed with younger women on the news. A journalist's career in broadcast is mostly short lived once they reach a certain age as is the case with many other careers.
